Independent Funeral Directors Serving the Somerset & Weston-super-Mare Areas

With more than 30 years’ experience between us and spending many years working for a large corporate funeral company, we began our own funeral business in September 2015. Our passion has always been to care for the deceased and their families at the highest level, but at reasonable cost, costs which have remained the same since we opened. We were the first funeral business in the Weston-super-Mare and surrounding area to run our business in an open and transparent way.

 Our services and associated costs have always been clearly displayed on our website and any advertising we have released.

 Initially, taking care of every aspect of our business kept us both very busy, so we were very quickly joined by Allen Hawkins and Stephen Tooze, who are father-in-law and son-in-law. As drivers and bearers, Allen and Steve have always been a loyal, reliable and essential part of the Groves family team, and are now an integral part of the business.

Over the past six years, the business had grown to the extent that we now employ three full-time members of staff. 

In July 2019 we were joined by Jackie Clarke in the position of funeral arranger.

 More recently, this year, we have been joined by Angela Morteo as Funeral Director. She has a number of years experience working within her role.

 We also employ a few other drivers and bearers on a more casual basis, namely Charlie, Ken, and Rhys. And they are just as important to the business as any of us, helping provide the care and high standard of service that our families deserve.

 We couldn’t do it without the support of any of them...
